Drum were commissioned by Astell Scientific Ltd to design and build two new websites for their global market, split by a US site and a UK site. The rebuild was in response to a rebrand of the company and an increasing growth in the marketplace of autoclaves. A UX workshop kicked off the project in September with the UK website launching in December, the US site is scheduled to launch early this year.
Drum worked closely with the marketing department at Astell Scientific Ltd to define user personas of the customer archetypes which helped lead the user experience planning of the site, ensuring a heavy emphasis on the brands historical leadership in the sterilization industry. This flowed into a detailed wireframing ahead of design stage.
The site features several support based tools which help guide the customer into choosing the right product and accessing media, literature and support around the products.
The site was built using Typo3 which gives extensive and comprehensive tools for the clients to be able to build and amend pages within the CMS, giving freedom to grow content.
